Nearly 40,000 racing fans came to watch the next generation of motorsport stars take to the track at the first World Series by Renault meeting of the season in Spain – and see Jean-Eric Vergne take the Red Bull Running Showcar through its paces.

The first round of the World Series by Renault was at Aragon Motorland, an impressive track three hours south west of Barcelona. In the middle of the plains of Spain the weather was a combination of beautiful sunshine and wet and windy weather.

Jev returned to his old stomping ground to showcase the brilliant power, grip, speed and noise of the World Championship-winning RB6. He finished second in the WSR championship last year – a series known for being a great proving ground for tomorrow's F1 stars.

Jev said: “It's great to be back at the World Series by Renault. The series looks fantastic this year with some great names. The cars are getting quicker (almost 3 seconds per lap quicker than last year) and as a result they are an even better preparation for F1

This was the first time Jev had ever done donuts and he picked it up quickly - and the crowd loved it.
