Red Bull Salzburg goalkeeper Eddie Gustafsson is over his serious injury and raring to go after a Turkish training camp. Here he blogs about his new colleagues, dealing with pain and defending a title…

Hi everyone

We came back to Salzburg on Friday with renewed confidence. I can tell you that the training camp in Belek, Turkey, was one of the best I've ever experienced. The mood in the team was great and we had lot of fun together. Our new players are great guys and they've all settled quickly into our squad.

I was particularly pleased that my first assignment on my return from injury was our last practice match against Spartak Moscow [on January 20, which ended 1–1]. Sure, it would've been nice if we'd won, but overall I was very pleased.

'I just hope that I can play every game'

My leg has healed very well and I feel no pain. I can continue to practise with the team and won't need any more therapy.

Now I'm looking forward to seeing my family again and spending a few days resting before returning to full training. I'm really looking forward to the second round in the Austrian Bundesliga and just hope that I can play every game without any more injuries, and can help my fellow Red Bull Salzburg players defend our title.

I'll report back soon!

All the best,

Eddie
