Last night, Rajon Rondo went off.
The Boston Celtics point guard, and Red Bull athlete, poured in 44 points, dropped 10 assists and pulled down eight rebounds in the team's 115-111 loss to the Miami Heat in game two of the Eastern Conference Finals. Equally as impressive, Rondo played every minute of the game, which went into overtime. That's 53 minutes.
Talk about having wings. He scored on drives to the basket. He made jump shots. He nailed three-pointers. Rondo did not slow down all night. He was responsible for all 12 of the Celtics points in overtime and took an inadvertant hit to the head by Dwayne Wade, which was missed by the officials.
If you want to talk records, according to ESPN, Rondo became the first Boston Celtic to score at least 40 points and dish 10 assists in a playoff game. The NBA even put together this highlight reel of his performance.
Game three is Friday night in Boston. We can't wait.
