Last season the Red Bulls made a name for themselves across Europe with Salzburg becoming the only team on the continent to win every single one of their six UEFA Europa League group matches. Unfortunately they then crashed out in the last 32 as they lost 3-2 to Standard Liege in the first leg, squandering a comfortable two goal advantage in the process. A single goal would've been enough to see them through in the return leg, but Liege held on for a scoreless draw to progress. This season's group is set to be even more of a challenge, with a line-up that wouldn't look out of place in the Champions League – with Manchester City, Juventus and Lech Poznan the opponents.

Salzburg lost convincingly by two goals to nil during their trip to Poland earlier in the competition. They will be looking to salvage some pride during the home leg, in what is their final Europa League group game.
